JERRY INGRAM CHOCTAW/CHEROKEE ORIGINAL ART PAINTING. RARE ORIGINAL ART BY JERRY INGRAM. I BELIEVE IT’S A WATERCOLOR. JERRY INGRAM IS AN AWARD WINNING, VERY WELL KNOWN CHOCKTAW / CHEROKEE ARTIST FROM BATTIEST, OKLAHOMA. IT IS A BEAUTIFUL, BRIGHT AND VERY TOUCHING PIECE. THE PIECE MEASURES APPROXIMATELY 12 3/4″ X 13 1/2″ AND APPEARS TO BE FLOATED. IT IS MATTED IN A WHITE/OFF WHITE MAT WITH A BRUSHED GOLD FRAME. TOTAL SIZE MEASURES 21″ X 21″ AND IS COVERED IN GLASS. THE ORIGINAL FRAMING COMPANY STAMP IN PORTLAND, MAINE IS ON THE BACK OF THE FRAME. THE IMAGE IS OF AN INDIAN BEATING A DRUM WITH 3 EAGLES IN THE BACKGROUND. IT IS PAINTED IN DIFFERENT SHADES OF ORANGE, WITH BEADED EMBELLISHMENT ON THE SLEEVES AND NECK. THE COLORS ARE BRIGHT AND VIBRANT. NOT EXPOSED TO DIRECT SUNLIGHT TO PROTECT THE COLORS. JERRY INGRAM’S WORK AND ORIGINAL PAINTINGS ARE HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE. THIS IS JUST A BEAUTIFUL PIECE. THE AUTHENTICITY AND DETAIL IN JERRY INGRAM’S WORK IS JUST MAGNIFICENT! PLEASE FORGIVE THE REFLECTIONS IN THE IMAGE. IT HAS BEEN PROTECTED, COVERED IN GLASS AND IT WAS DIFFICULT TO PHOTOGRAPH WITHOUT GETTING SOME REFLECTION. ALL MEASUREMENTS AND COLORS ARE APPROXIMATE AND AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE. THANK YOU FOR LOOKING! There’s a lot going on in this watercolor, it depicts a soldier camp with tents on the mid left side surrounded by battling Indians with bow and arrows Spears Shields dead horses and cavalrymen. Please see pictures and feel free to ask questions, I’m not exactly sure if this was a battle in particular or not but it seems to be a very large Battlefield that starts in the front and goes all the way back up to the mountain ridge as seen. Image measures 11″ by 7″ total measurement is 15 1/2″ by 12″ There is some foxing towards the top and it appears to be unsigned, I took it apart and put it back together again and I did not see any signatures. It is framed and matted under glass. For what it is it looks good and displays well for its age. I believe it to be from around the late 1800s but I do not know for sure.
